The essays deal with the usage and history of names as well as the grammar and theory of names. The journal welcomes problems regarding names of people and animals, geographical names, event names, product names etc. of all languages, areas, and times. Beiträge zur Namensforschung focuses on Central European languages and names. Reviews inform about new publications regarding onomastics as well as relevant publications about the history of language, dialectology, grammar, lexicography, history, and archaeology. The articles are written in German and English.
